Fresh Mullet Fish (Boi) – Firm, Flavorful & Perfect for Frying

Mullet Fish, locally known as Boi, is a saltwater fish widely enjoyed for its firm texture, mild-to-savory flavor, and dependable cooking performance. It is a familiar choice in Pakistani kitchens, especially for those who prefer simple, traditional fish dishes with clean taste and good bite.

The flesh is firm yet moist, allowing Boi to hold its shape during frying and pan-cooking without breaking apart. It absorbs basic seasonings well, making it ideal for masala fry, shallow frying, and light curries. Because it cooks evenly and doesn’t require heavy preparation, Mullet Fish is commonly used for everyday meals and quick home cooking.

At Anbar Fish, Mullet (Boi) is freshly cleaned, hygienically processed, and delivered via nationwide cold-chain logistics, ensuring consistent freshness and quality across Pakistan.

Flavor Profile

Mullet has medium-colored flesh and good medium flavor, a bit stronger skin-on. There is a wide but thin region of darker meat under the skin and a deep dark band at the centerline.

The dark meat is part of the flavor of the fish because there is too much of it to remove. Since it’s a highly perishable fish, we try to deliver it as fresh as possible.
